The Obsthaus stocks a complete range of fruit and vegetables including common herbs. Furthermore we source fresh produce where available from local farmers. Regionality is vital to us, but what quality and availability are even more essential. For this reason, we maintain international partnerships.
Convenience is a rapidly growing sector. We offer a wide selection of washed, peeled and cut fruit, vegetables and leafy greens. Should there be anything missing in our range, we’d be happy to cater your specific needs.

Our extensive range includes organic fruit, organic vegetables and organic herbs. We are thus responding to the increasing demand for delivery services offering a full range of fresh organic products. And we are doing so out of a sense of conviction.

 

Our trading activities with organic products are certified by Austria Bio Garantie.

We maintain a close relationship with our suppliers and customers that is based on trust, respect and reliability. We see these values at play during our daily cooperation. Consistency, sustainability and quality across all levels are more important to us than getting caught up in a price war. This is the only way we want to work.

In sunny northern Italy, organic herbs are grown especially for Obsthaus in high-tech glasshouses and in outdoor areas that are beneficial for the climate. Rosanna treats her "aromati" as if they were her babies. You can practically taste the love and care she puts into growing them.

The Hungarian brothers Gabor and Csaba Horváth are passionately cultivating mushrooms only 50 kilometres from the Austrian border. They are also global GAP certified.

Around 40 different types of fruit and vegetables grow at the Achleitner organic farm in the fertile Eferding basin. Long-standing organic partners at home and abroad complement the range.

A family business with a heart for sustainability for decades. The sun, the soil from the beautiful Marchfeld region and experience make the vegetables particularly tasty.

Some people may think that sustainability is old news ̶ been there, done that, heard it a million times already. But we believe that you can't talk about it enough. Even in this day and age there is still far too little being done to protect the environment.

We're doing our part for a clean future, so we...

  • operate our plant with green electricity from renewable wind, water and solar energy
  • use recycled paper, from copy paper to image folders
  • clean using biodegradable agents
  • donate ripe fruit and vegetables to charities to avoid them being thrown away
  • dispose of packaging material via the Recycling Agency (ARA)
  • and hope that e-technology will soon be sufficiently developed to allow us to include e-cars in our fleet.

The history of Obsthaus Haller

The history of Obsthaus Haller began with Josef Haller. He entered the fruit and vegetable wholesale business in 1970. In a career spanning more than 50 years, he built up international partnerships and a loyal network with handshake quality. Affectionately known as “Haller Pepi”, he is still the bedrock of the industry. Erich followed his father’s passion and founded the fruit company in 2012. Before that, he spent almost 20 years as a managing director in renowned restaurants and hotels. His understanding of the requirements and needs of these industries characterizes his work.

The original founder of the large produce store has been given the affectionate nickname “Haller Pepi”. He can look back on a 50-year career in fruit and vegetable wholesale, during which he established his own network of loyal suppliers and the reputation of a reliable partner with unfailing quality. Today, he is already enjoying his retirement but still visits Obsthaus almost every day and offers reliable advice when needed.

DOING GOOD WE HELP PEOPLE

We support the SOS Children's Village every year with donations to finance projects.

Fruit and vegetables that are too ripe to be sold are donated to the Wiener Tafel and Caritas.

Erich Haller subordinates everything else to this one goal. When he delivers, he never delivers anything else. "Keep smiling. Every problem can be an opportunity,” the Obsthaus boss is convinced. His motto
